About Us

We are a local association of Legal Professionals, Incorporated (LPI ©)

In 1929, an idea was formed and initiated to gather together a group of legal secretaries in order to learn what was required in the preparation and filing of legal documents.

In 1931, Los Angeles Legal Secretaries Association (LALSA) was established and organized for the purpose of providing educational, professional and personal development programs to its members.

By 1934, this idea blossomed and spread throughout the state of California, and in 1940, Legal Secretaries Incorporated was formed as a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation. The name recently changed  to Legal Professionals, Incorporated (LPI ©).  Membership is open to anyone within the legal profession.

With few exceptions, LALSA holds a dinner meeting on the third Tuesday of every month at TAIX French Restaurant on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles; a guest speaker presents a legal educational topic. See Home page for information about our next meeting.
